Under the able guidance of Dr. Vikramjit Singh Sahney, Sun Foundation and World Punjabi Organisation have always stood committed to the cause of Punjab and the spirit of Punjabiyat.
As contributors to relief and rehabilitation efforts, we have consistently reached out in times of crisis.
Just as during the devastating floods that hit Punjab in 2023, we once again stand shoulder to shoulder with our people—extending support from immediate rescue to long-term rehabilitation.
The 2025 floods have caused an irreparable loss to Punjab — washing away homes, crops and livestock, and leaving families shattered across villages
The 2025 floods have brought Punjab to its knees, marking one of the darkest chapters in recent memory. Nearly 2300+ villages across all 23 districts stand ravaged. Over 1,91,926 hectares of crops — the lifeline of Punjab’s farmers — lie destroyed. Close to 3.55 lakh people have been directly impacted, their homes and livelihoods swept away . Most tragically, 56 precious lives have already been lost, while livestock and farmlands remain buried under water and silt.
Beyond this human and agricultural crisis, the state has suffered massive damage to public infrastructure: over 3,200 schools and 1,400 healthcare centres are damaged, while more than 8,500 km of roads and 2,500 bridges and culverts have been destroyed. These vital lifelines demand urgent repair, both as a precaution for the future and to get Punjab back on its feet again.
Entire communities are left battling despair and uncertainty. It is a tragedy that has deeply scarred the state, yet strengthened the spirit of resilience and togetherness
In this moment of profound loss, Sun Foundation and World Punjabi Organisation under the aegis of Dr. Vikramjit Singh Sahney stands unwaveringly with Punjab—from urgent rescue operations to long-term rehabilitation—committed to restoring hope, dignity and livelihoods.
