New Delhi, February 22, 2021: Manish Sisodia Ji , Deputy Chief Minister, Delhi inaugurated #world_class_skill_centre (WCSC) to be run completely free for marginalized section by Sun Foundation India founded by Padma Shri Vikramjit Sahney as the Foundation embarked upon yet another year to serve the underprivileged section of the society. Set up with international standards, NSQF aligned and accredited with NSDC and Sector Skill Councils, the 6 months full time courses in fashion interior & graphic desugning, solar panel technician, general duty astt, beauty & wellness, web & software developer are well in sync with current industry needs. In addition, digital literacy, spoken English, soft skill and personality development will also be taught to all students.” Mr sahney said
The event started with ‘Ribbon Cutting’ & ‘Lamp Lighting’ by Shri Manish Sisodia and Vikramjit Sahney followed by Ganesh Vandana. While welcoming the dignitaries and the students Mr. Sahney said, ‘We need to work towards alleviating poverty by facilitating self-sufficiency. Skilling a person would be a firm step towards giving him an opportunity to earn an honest livelihood and not be forced with the alternative of financial dependency.’ He further added, ‘It’s an honour and matter of great pride that DTTE mandated SF to run this WCSC . we are committed to make this institution to match up to international standards. Our students are no less than anyone in skill perfection and their readiness to be part of industry in best possible capability.”
Mr. Sisodia, while addressing the gathering stated that these may be unprecedented times with several challenges but also open a plethora of opportunities. He stressed on the importance of skill education and said that his government will continue to work towards enhancing the status of skill education. There is a skill University coming up in the capital whereby any student who has acquired any skill may further enhance. He also urged the students enrolled that they must consider the training that they acquire at the centre as a stepping stone and they should continue to have appetite for more and more knowledge as in a developing world, one needs to continue to enhance one’s skill and to be ahead in life. We have to work with the resolve of ‘Hands-on, Minds-on, Hearts-on’ to achieve in life.
