8th January – Mrs. Renuka Kumar, Principal Secretary Women & Child Dept. Uttar Pradesh and National Skill Development Corporation Delhi officials visited SUN Foundation Sanitary Napkin Production Training Centre at Nari Niketan, Nirmal Chhaya Complex, Tihar Jail Delhi on 08.01.2018. She appreciated the SUN FOUNDATION work and NSDC official requested to start some skill development centres in Mathura, Vrindavan & Agra Uttar Pradesh.

13th January – Hon’ble Ms. Justice Mukta Gupta, Hon’ble Ms. Justice Rekha Pali , Mr. Krishan Kumar Gaur, NSDC, Ms. Shilpa Shinde, Director, DWCD, GNCTD & others Juvenile Justice Committee members visited Sun Foundation Sanitary Napkin Production Training Centre at Nari Niketan, Nirmal Chhaya Complex, Tihar Jail, Delhi. All the Visitors appreciated SUN Foundation initiatives towards running four centres in Nirmal Chhaya Complex to provide skill trainings to inmates.

11th March – Sun Foundation Mathura Centre under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojna was inaugurated by Sh. J.P. Sagar, Secretary, WCD Uttar Pardesh at Govt.Observation Home (Boys) on 11.03.2018 in august presence of  Sh. J.P. Sagar ,Secretary, WCD Uttar Pardesh, Sh. Sarvagya Mishr DM, Mathura, Mr. Krishn Kumar Gaur, NSDC, Delhi, Mr. Anurag Rastogi, Distt. Probation Office, Mathura, Mrs. Isha Bhandari CEO, Sun Foundation, Mr.Umesh Kumar Gautam, Director-Skill Training, Sun Foundation with all Staff members Govt. Observation Home, Mathura. In this centre Sun Foundation is providing Skill Training to Juveniles in Mobile Phone Hardware Repairing Technician Job Role as per curriculum of Electronics Sector Skill Council of India. All the dignitaries were delightful after seeing the centre set up with latest tools & equipment. 1st Batch of 25 Juveniles started & PMKVY Kits (T Shirts, I Cards, Books, Note Book, Pen etc.) distributed to them.

24th April – Sun Foundation Skill Development Centre at Mata Sundri College for Women University of Delhi , affiliated with Apparel Made up & Home furnishing Sector Skill India for Fashion Designer, Quality Assessor, Merchandiser and Sewing Machine Operator Job Roles.

4th August – Sun Foundation started its Sanitary Napkin Production Training Centre at Aap Ki Sakhi , Rani Laxmibai Asha Jyoti Kender, WCD Dept., Agra, Uttar Pardesh on 04.08.2018 in august presence of Mr. Kanan representing Murganathan Arunachalam ‘The Pad Man”, Mr.Umesh Kumar Gautam, Director-Skill Training Sun Foundation, Incharge Ms. Deepshikha with all the staff members of Aap Ki Sakhi Rani Laxmi Bai Asha Jyoti Kender. In this training centre Sun Foundation is providing training of Sanitary Napkin Production to the girls & women of Agra. In this centre all the machinery, tools & equipment purchased from Jayaa Shree Industries, Coimbatore, Tamil nadu.

18th Jan: Beti Bachao- Beti Padhao National Programme of Hon’ble Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi was organized on the 18th Jan 2015 at HUDCO Convention Centre, Faridabad, Haryana and Bhora Kalan, Gurgaon, Haryana. The Chief Guest at Faridabad was Shri Kishan Pal Hon’ble Union Minister of State Social Justice and Empowerment and Shri Narbir Singh, Hon’ble PW (B&R) Minister, Haryana Govt at Gurgaon. The programme was supported by  Sun Foundation. Chairman of Sun Foundation Padma Shri Vikramjit Singh Sahney was the distinguished Guest among eminent guest which included Mr Amit Agarwal, DC Faridabad, Dr Aditya Dhaiya, ADC Faridabad. Public Interest Messages on Beti Bachao and Beti Padhao were screened at the venues. Shri Sahney addressed the gathering and flagged off the Beti Bachao yatra along with Shri Krishan Pal.

Shri Narbir Singh, Hon’ble PW (B&R) Minister ,Haryana Govt flagged off the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao yatra from Bhora Kalan, Gurgaon where Sun Foundation is running a Surya Kiran Centre for women and girls imparting free training in Drafting and stitching. The beneficiaries of Sun Foundation presented a cultural programme which was well appreciated by the minister.

27th Jan: Delivered the order for stitching 261 school uniforms of S.S. School , Nangal Shahbajpur, Bawal, Haryana. The uniforms were stitched by our beneficiaries in Haryana Centre’s under our empowerment project.

20th Feb: Sun Foundation celebrated its Annual Day on 20th Feb 2015. The audience witnessed captivating performances by underprivileged and differently abled children of Sun Foundation. Social Ambassadors of the foundation ; Navin Gulia, Meghna, Jai Chhaniyara, Vinod Thakur, Sai Prasad, Mamta Vani, Pradeep Raj were honoured and a special performance by Shub Kaur Ghuman was breathtaking. The event at India Islamic Cultural Centre witnessed many eminent personalities who pledged their support to the cause . The Chief Guest was Shri Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Hon’ble Minister Union Minister of State Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (Independent Charge) & Parliamentary Affairs, Government of India. Other eminient guests were; Aruna Oswal,Shovana Narayan, Zila Khan, R.S. Chadha, Ramesh Handa, Surjit Singh, Shakti Nath, B.S. Anand.

27th April: Gen. V.K. Singh, Hon’ble Minister of State, External Affairs, GOI Flags off relief mission for Nepal today at 5PM from Sardar Patel Bhawan, Parliament Street, New Delhi. Sun Foundation Chairman, Sh. Sahney expressed his solidarity with people of Nepal, stating that Nepal is part of his extended family and he will continue to make efforts till Nepal is out of this tough time and situation.

28th Sep: Sr. Vikramjit Singh Sahney, Chairman Sun Foundation pledging support to adopt widows of poor farmers who committed suicide, in presence of Cine Star Akshay Kumar, Lara Dutta and Amy Jackson at an Event held at Imperial Hotel, New Delhi

3rd Oct: Drug De-Addiction campaign at Amritsar. Holy city witnesses a record breaking dance performance and pledge against drugs by 10,000 school students at Khalsa College grounds.

5th Oct: It was an honour and privilege for Sun Foundation on 5th Oct. when Mrs. Meenakshi Lekhi, Member of Parliament, inagurated the centre at Mata Sundri College. She highlighted the importance of skill training and encouraged the students to take full advantage of the courses offered by Sun Foundation which will empower them and enable them to contribute effectively in the process of nation building.

29-2 Feb: Hungarian Information and Cultural Centre , New Delhi along with Citizen Artist Group and Sun Foundation conducted an exhibition of paintings titled ‘For you AMRITA’ which showcased a collection of 101 paintings in the memory of great woman painter of 20th century India, AMRITA SHERGIL to commemorate her  101st birth anniversary. Amrita Shergilis touted as India’s first modern artist and is truly a national treasure both literally and metaphorically. The exhibition was inaugurated by Shri Arun Jaitely , Leader of Opposition Rajya Sabha in the Presence of Padma Shri Vikramjit Singh Sahney, President Sun Foundation, Anjolie Ela Menon, Dr Janos Terenyi – Ambassador of Hungary, Shri Om Prakash Sharma – Member Vidhan Sabha, BJP , and Mr. Tibor Kovacs – Director of Hungarian Cultural Centre.

20 Feb:Sun Foundation celebrated its Annual Celebrations embarking upon yet another year to serve the underprivileged section of our society. A captivating evening with eternal performance by Legendary Hema Malini , Special Guest Harshdeep Kaur (Bollywood Singer) and performances by our children. The event was held at FICCI Auditorium.

7th March:Padma Shri Vikramjit Singh Sahney released the DVD of Public Interest Message ‘BABULA’ on Save The Girl Child by Sun Foundation along with Shri Arun Maira, Member Planning Commission, Mr. Sidharth Birla, FICCI President, Mrs Rajshree Birla, Chairperson FICCI CSR Committee.

29th Aug:Sun Foundation organized an event for the launch of Shri Narendra Modi’s books at TAJ Palace, New Delhi. The book was launched by Shri Vikramjit Singh Sahney, Arun Jaitely and eminent dignitaries.

15th Nov:Sun Foundation Partnered The Conference “Justice For Widows” In Association With Loomba Foundation And Bombay Stock Exchange In Mumbai. Padma Shri Vikramjit Singh Sahney pledged to empower 500 widows through his project Surya Kiran which imparts free skill training to women.

14th Nov: Swachh Bharat Abhiyan: Shri Sahney was nominated by Priyanka Chopra for Prime Minister’s campaign. He conducted the drive at Shiv Karwadi,Near Sea Breeze Society,Church Road, Versova,Mumbai along with Priyanka Chopra. It was covered by NDTV Channel.

7th Nov:-Lifestyle Products Store launched at Haus Khas Village, New Delhi .The products displayed for sale are made by underprivileged women in our centre’s. The proceeds of the sale are given to the beneficiaries.

Sponsored fees of Sooraj (an underprivileged child) for B.Tech Course at Guru Teg Bahadur College of Engeneering and Technology, DU.

Sun Foundation initiates project for making newspaper bags, laundry bags for Radisson Hotel Greater Noida. These items are made by our beneficiaries.
