Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister Om Parkash Soni ji, inaugurated free skill development courses at Multi Skill Development Centre (MSDC), at Amritsar on sunday (26.09.2021) set up by Sun Foundation in partnership with Punjab Skill Development Mission. Soni ji said that “it’s a commendable initiative done by Sh Sahney ji, Padam Shri, towards opening of this skill center for tackling unemployment problems among youth. The center will train more than 500 students to start with & going up to 1000 students per year.
Philanthropist Vikramjit Singh Sahney , Padma Shri Chairman Sun Foundation said that the Foundation has established Multi Skill Development Center of Excellence with state-of-the-art new labs and infrastructure for providing free skill courses in Field Sales Executive, Fitter- Mechanical assembly, customer care executive, Data Entry Operator, Home Health aid, Food & Beverage Steward. Sahney ji assured in the function that through industry support, we have got more than 500 placement confirmation from industry associations & various industrialists.
Apart from main skill courses, students will also be provided Soft Skill classes & Computer classes. After completion of courses, students will get assistance in Job placements also. The willing students can take admission by visiting the Multi Skill Development Centre.
Sun Foundation, established in 1998, by Shri Sahney ji is already running a World Class Skill Centre in New Delhi. Apart from skilling, the Foundation also provided massive Covid relief in last 2 years and donated 2000 Oxygen cylinders and Concentrators, Mobile testing clinics and Life Ambulances. Sun foundation has rehabilitated over 500 Afghan Sikhs & Hindus under “My Family & My Responsibility” program.
The Foundation is also running Drug De-addiction Centres and various other programs benefiting our society at large.
During Inauguration at Multi Skill Development Centre, Shri Om Parkash Soni (Deputy Chief Minister), Shri Vikram jit singh Shaney (Padam Shri), Shri Ranbir Singh Mudhal (ADC(D)), Amritsar, Shri Sumeet Gupta (Skill Director, Sun Foundation), Mrs. Parminder jit (Centre Director), Shri Surinder Singh (Mobilization Manager, PSDM) , and Shri Rahul Sharma (MIS cus Admin Officer) were present.
